Annual Candy Donation - Mattie Miracle!
Donate Your Leftover Halloween Candy to a Good Cause!
This year, Cashell will be participating in the Mattie’s Miracle Annual Candy Drive. The candy helps to fill a free snack cart for families caring for a child with cancer or other life threatening illness at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Sinai, Children’s National Medical Center, The Children’s Inn at NIH, The Hospital for Sick Children, and several local Ronald McDonald Houses. The snack cart circulates around the pediatric units three times a week. It is greeted with appreciation and thanks since many families are unable to leave their child even for a minute to get a snack for themselves. Last year, the Mattie Miracle Foundation collected 8,500 pounds of candy! To learn more about the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation you can visit www.mattiemiracle.com.
Collection boxes will be placed in the APR room anddonations will be accepted through Friday, November 4. Please consider donating your unwanted candy(any additional snack donations, such as individually packaged bags of chips, crackers, etc. are also greatly appreciated) for this worthy cause! If you or your kid/s would like to help sortand bag the candy and snacks, please contact Amy Wertlieb firstname.lastname@example.org.
